  • Location

Realise new feed mill including local, regional and global expertise within tight deadline.
  • Solution
Mill including silos, production tower, office and support buildings finished in record time meeting demands in Myanmar.
De Heus had been exporting feed products into Myanmar from Vietnam for a number of years. It therefore had a good knowledge of the local agricultural market when making the decision to set up its first factory on a greenfield site north of the capital Yangon. The challenge was to mirror the mixture of local, regional and global expertise in the construction project.

To do so, the company paired with Royal HaskoningDHV to provide engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) and to gain necessary permits and certification. Our regional office in Vietnam has long experience across Asia and is supported by a local office in Myanmar itself.

On-the-ground insight and co-operation across continents

Full civil design was undertaken by Royal HaskoningDHV Vietnam and our Myanmar office provided construction management services. This was the perfect combination to offer on-the-ground insight while enabling close co-operation between stakeholders across the Netherlands, Vietnam and Myanmar.

The finished mill includes silos and production tower as well as associated office and support buildings. The project was completed in shortest possible time to meet market demands in Myanmar and recorded no lost time injuries. It opened with a capacity of 120,000 tonnes per year and (meanwhile) has doubled its capacity in line with successful market growth.
