Ship repair market demand study

To investigate whether a viable market existed for the facility, we combined our existing expertise in shipyard and offshore markets with data on regional vessel movements to assess potential repair demand within the catchment of the proposed facility in 2015.

To gain an understanding of how demand levels may change in the future we used our in-house research on vessel docking intervals, industry trends and market growth characteristics. By assessing the competitive environment we were able to evaluate the balance between demand for repair and the supply of facilities to undertake it. With proprietary data on repair bill values and research on market capture characteristics at internationally competitive ship repair facilities, we could draw meaningful conclusions on throughput, product mix and facility revenue.
