Study on EU measures on noise on board ships

With legislation becoming more stringent, our client was keen to understand what legislation is already in place relating to noise on board ships, and how this is impacting on new vessels being built in Europe.

We undertook a review of existing legislation and provided insight into the impact this is having on newly built vessels in Europe. Recent European shipbuilding output was analysed to provide real examples of actions being taken to lessen the impact of noise and vibration on board ships.

We held discussions with Classification Societies and others to develop an understanding of their activities in this sector. The analysis was reviewed by the government client and used to help shape the client’s approach towards the topic of noise on board ships at the IMO.
