The Greater London Authority (GLA) undertakes periodic reviews on the safeguarding of wharves for commercial purposes on the Thames, according to London Plan policy. OSC was commissioned by the GLA to review its latest report on the 50 safeguarded wharves. The study included an in-depth review of the trade forecasts including their methodology and assumptions, the wharves’ capacity estimates as well as the envisaged distribution of demand and capacity to 2041. OSC also provided its own trade forecasts and interviewed relevant stakeholders who impact freight traffic on the Thames.
