We are recruiting for an experience C&I Engineer to join our Industry Advisory Group. The position may be based in our Johannesburg, Durban or Cape Town office. The position will fulfil a critical role on data centre projects.
Design of C&I services for buildings and industrial facilities.
Prepare design tasks, reports, technical drawings, engineering specifications and tender documentation.
Measuring and compiling of bills of quantities.
Perform site inspections and attend meetings.
Assistance in commissioning processes.
Provides expert contribution as project member or project discipline leader.
Provide technical and administrative support with preparation of bid submissions.
Ensure that all quality system procedures are followed in the production and issuing of designs, costing, drawings and standard details.
Monitor quality, in order to guarantee delivered services/products are in line with all relevant (internal and external) guidelines/procedures.
Contribute towards improvement of existing products, techniques and services.
Minimum qualifications, skills and experience:
BSc/BEng/BTech degree in Electrical Engineering
Professional registration with ECSA will be advantageous
Minimum 5 years relevant post graduate experience preferably within a consulting engineering environment.
Experience with BIM and a minimum of 3 years’ experience using BIM authoring tools like Revit.
BIM360, Revizto, Dynamo and Python experience are advantageous.
Data centre / Mission Critical Facilities experience is highly advantageous.
Clean rooms experience is highly advantageous.
Industrial facility experience is mandatory.
Demonstrable C&I engineering experience with an in-depth knowledge of building electrical services,
substation / distribution design, reticulation systems designs, C&I systems, BMS systems.
Extensive knowledge of local and international standards and codes.
Ability to develop engineering documentation from first principles.
Knowledge of specialist packages as well as MS Office, including Teams, Excel, Word, and Microsoft Project.
Good communication and people management skills for effective interface with other engineering disciplines, the client and contractors.
The ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
