Creating safer, smarter, and more efficient ports. That is what we do with our Smart Mooring software. The software and its team were born in Royal HaskoningDHV in 2019 and both continue to grow. We bring our Maritime engineering knowledge to Port operations by combing our Digital capabilities with historic, real time and predictive data streams. The product is now operational in port control centres in the Netherlands, UAE, Spain and the UK. To expand our outreach and turn our vision into reality we are looking for a pro-active team member who can help to move our in-company start-up into the scale-up phase.

 

What you will do as a Commercial Consultant

As a Commercial Consultant, your main goal is to create opportunities, develop and process business leads for the product Smart Mooring and related innovations/products. Your main tasks will be:

  • Pro-actively approach (new) clients by opening conversations with potential customers, turn these into leads and guide them towards contract agreements.
  • Align the client’s expectation with the team’s and product’s capabilities.
  • Actively propose and organize ways to engage the market through interactive events.
  • Be a commercial-strategic sparring partner for the team.
  • Travel (inter)nationally to meet clients in person, so regular business trips will be part of your work.

The core product team is energetic, concise, and entrepreneurial, with key people being the Product Director, Product Owner, Senior Developer and Lead Engineer. The team has strong ties in both the Maritime as well as the Digital departments in terms of skill and internal/external networks.

What you bring

You are a self-starter with a relevant network in the Maritime sector. You have a product mindset and appreciate a technical, innovative and entrepreneurial environment. You are social, digitally savvy and intrinsically motivated to grow the product and yourself. Connecting people on different levels and with different disciplines in the client’s as well as the own organization energizes you. You bring:

  • Affinity in the Maritime or related sector.
  • Minimum of 3 - 6 years of recent and relevant working experience.
  • Product mindset, preferable with software or another digital development.
  • High level of spoken and written English. Another widely spoken language is beneficial.
  • Consultative selling is your nature.
