Internal Communications Advisor (UK) – Maternity Cover

About our Communications Team:

Over 25 professionals, mainly located in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, work in the Brand, Marketing & Communications department at Royal HaskoningDHV, for and with colleagues in our business lines and other corporate groups, globally. The Brand, Marketing & Communications department leads the brand strategy, marketing and sales enablement as well as internal communications and corporate external communications. The global internal communications team consists of 5 professionals, who works closely together with internal communications professionals in other corporate groups and business lines. The team focuses on engaging employees with Royal HaskoningDHV as an employer and consulting engineer of choice, our purpose and strategy, and we work on enabling our employees to make our strategy happen. The team also coordinates internal communications enablers, like internal channels.


Overall purpose of the role:

On one hand, ensure with internal communications that employees (globally) are facilitated and motivated to do their job in supporting the company ambitions. On the other, ensure this for UK specific priorities as well. Contribute to and execute centrally designed campaigns with high quality in an engaging and action-oriented manner.


General responsibilities:

· UK specific internal comms planning and coordination
· Leadership communication RD/ UK LMT
· Lead on local UK specific comms activities such as Webcasts, Yammer UK community, UK Priority email
· Lead/co-lead global communications for important tracks in support of company purpose and strategy, specific focus on safety and wellbeing, project excellence, surveys
· Internal corporate content, for example for companywide internal video/newsletter (4 weekly), culture and purpose testimonials etc.
· Lead/co-lead activation of internal communication channels
· Lead/co-lead employee engagement activities


· Acts as business partner for management (proactively and on request) with respect to and as representative of employee engagement
· Contribute to the development and implementation of Global and Local internal comms strategy, advising both Global Internal Manager and LMT
· Identifies current and future LMT needs and business developments, with an approximate time horizon of 1 year.
· Ability to manage, be agile and work within tight deadlines
· Self-sufficient in prioritising, organizing workloads, planning ahead.
· Willingness to roll up sleeves and deliver hands on as part of the team (most team members are based in The Netherlands)
· Attention to details, accurate
· Good communications skills: confident and approachable communications style with positive, can-do attitude to solving issues, seeing opportunities, and offer solutions
· Sound understanding and knowledge of UK local business, clients/markets, products/services and industry challenges
· Knowledgeable and innovative regarding local activation, with specific attention to digital experience/ activation with human touch.
· Fluent (native) in English / in speaking and in writing
· An understanding of delivering content in a multi-channel context in international organisations
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role; with a marketing or communication qualification
· Excellent verbal and written capabilities.
