We are recruiting a Senior Project Manager for Master Plan and Water Projects to strengthen our team, currently consisting of 30 staffs. This position is expected to be located in Hanoi and carries out projects throughout Vietnam. It can be based in Ho Chi Minh city as well. 

B/ Primary function objectives

  • Lead and develop project management team/ organisation for the realization of multidisciplinary planning and water projects
  • Control projects regarding to Planning, Costs, Resources, Quality, Scope & Risks and delivery of our contractual obligations
  • Develop a close relationship with Clients
  • Support business development activities
  • Ensure that high quality services & products are delivered in line with the Clients expectations
  • Stimulate excellence in teamwork and quality
  • Maximize the project profit
  • Coach junior project managers and project managers
  • Stimulate team aspects of quality, enthusiasm and promoting a good atmosphere for teamwork.
  • Realize multidisciplinary projects within the predefined requirements by:
    + Management of multiple multidisciplinary project teams
    + Strong sense of project ownership and urgency
    + Responsible for delivery of projects to the satisfaction of our Clients and specifically with regard to Planning (time), Quality, Costs and Risk & Scope Management
    + Coaching junior project managers and project managers

C/ Function description

Project Management:

– Expected result: Independently execute and deliver complex projects within the predefined requirements.

– Core activities:

  • Control projects regarding to Planning, Costs, Resources, Quality, Scope & Risks and delivery of our contractual obligations.
  • Report on the project status (internal as well as external).
  • Prepare and finalise contracts with Clients and Subcontractors.
  • Maximize the project profit:
    + setting up and guarding the budget
    + cost efficiency
    + variation management.
  • Represent the company and the project team towards the client. Giving presentations.
  • Set up the project definition and quotation in the contract phase.

Internal activities:

– Expected result: Knowledge development and knowledge transfer contributing to the development of the office.

– Core activities:

  • Contribute to expansion of knowledge in the field of project management and project management tools.
  • Knowledge transfer and tutor (junior) project managers.
  • Promote knowledge transfer within Royal HaskoningDHV.

Acquisition and public relation control:

–Expected result: Active support of marketing team in the acquisition of new orders

–Core activities:

  • Anticipate developments with the client that have the potential to lead to additional or new orders.
  • Develop and maintain public relations (originating in projects) with (potential) clients for Royal HaskoningDHV.
  • Contribute to the acquisition in consultation with the market units.

D/ Job Requirements

General education level:

  • Master/ Bachelor Degree in Urban planning or Water Management or Water supply and Drainage or in Civil Engineering. Master degree and education abroad are preferred.
  • Academic level of thinking and working.
  • Professional Project Management Certificate.

Specific knowledge and experience:

  • You will have proven experience in project management of multidisciplinary projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of English (spoken and written). An English test might be part of the selection procedure.
  • Broad technical insight of disciplines involved in master plans and water projects.
  • Experiences in doing Master Plan, Feasibility Study, Design and Construction supervision.

Experience:

  • At least 10 years of experience in managing projects.
  • Experience in ODA projects is preferred.
  • Experience in master plan, design and/ or site works.
  • Contractual mindset.
