Are you an experienced, motivated Team Lead / Project Manager with Commercial and Business Development skills we are looking for in Malaysia? Read on!

 

 What you do as a Team Lead / Project Manager

You will be the front of the company in Malaysia. You will play three different but related key functions. The average time allocation:

  • 20%: Local Team Leader of our Malaysia based project staff (currently 10, growing to 20 in 2022)
  • 40%: Project manager / director of medium sized light industry projects
  • 40%: Business development and acquisition

You will report to the Director Advisor Group Indonesia / Malaysia with a dotted line to the Business Development Director APAC.

Here are key roles:

Local Team Leader:

  • Provide leadership to the local Project Teams in Malaysia, apart from their reporting lines in the projects
  • Oversee all active projects in the country
  • Communicate with the Project Team leads in Indonesia
  • Manage the capacity in the Malaysia Team, active involvement in hiring for project positions

Project management:

  • Manage medium sized key projects through its lifecycle, starting from project conception/definition, development of the project plan, budget, schedule, procurement and contracting strategies, through the engineering, procurement and construction phases
  • Participate in and lead risk assessments and actively manage the risks of the projects and the business

Business Development:

  • Develop, execute and maintain the sales (action) plan as part of the overal BD Plan APAC
  • Analyse market trends and spot opportunities to develop new business and/or services within existing markets/new accounts or new markets/new accounts
  • Generate opportunities/leads in the selected markets to meet the Sales and Profit targets for Malaysia
  • Actively engage in the project acquisition phase, jointly with the BD manager in Singapore and Indonesia
  • Coordinate the proposal preparation process with contributions from others and self
  • Act as account manager for specific clients
  • Interact with clients and relevant stakeholders
  • Maintain and develop a professional business network in Malaysia
  • Be an active member of our company’s Global Business Development team for the selected markets, and interact with them in APAC regions as well as globally

 We are looking for an ambitious and energetic manager in Malaysia who has both project management and construction management skills (light industrial projects) as well as a strong affinity with acquiring new business. Our setup in Malaysia is a project organisation that falls directly under responsibility of our Indonesian advisory group. Each project team has a project manager who reports to their line managers in Indonesia.

 

 What you bring

  • Bachelor Degree, or equivalent qualification in Engineering or related subjects
  • Experience working within EPC/EPCm in light industrial factories project (preferably in F&B) environment (minimum 15 years)
  • Knowledge of consultancy, design & construction services with supply chain networks & industrial assets
  • Understand market trends and themes like sustainability, supply chain and innovation in industrial context
  • Have an advanced knowledge of project controls including scheduling, budgeting, risk management progress monitoring and forecasting.
  • Good report writing skills, experience of making presentations to and attending meetings with client is essential
  • Good written and verbal skills (English & Bahasa) and able to influence and interact with all Management Levels
  • Entrepreneurship, team player, self-starter, and independent performer
  • Team player who actively engages others in the commercial process, including exposure to clients
  • Have skills to lead and engage with proposal and cross-functional internal teams
  • Available immediately or with short notice
