The Blackburn project has been shortlisted in the Impact in Water Systems category. The project includes construction partner LiMA (Laing O’Rourke) for this new-build contract for United Utilities, which is part of a £100 million infrastructure upgrade to outmoded and life expired existing assets. Nereda technology was chosen for the project, due to its ability to process high volumes of wastewater and efficiently achieve higher treated water standards, while minimising the use of land area and resources.

Having had the project shortlisted, the next stage requires team representatives to present their entry to the NCE judging panel. The 25-minute presentation will take place on Monday 25 March, which will include a Q&A by the judges about why the project deserves to be named as one of the NCE 100 Category award winners for 2019. The award winners will be announced at the Awards Dinner on 30 April 2019 at The Brewery, 52 Chiswell St, London.
