Designed to optimise traffic flow city-wide in real-time, Flowtack is already proven to reduce the number of vehicles having to stop at junctions by 30-40%. It also brings about a reduction in CO2 emissions by between 7-13% and reduces nitrogen oxide by over 10%.
It works by using live data to respond to current traffic conditions, keeping vehicles moving by controlling traffic lights city-wide.
Flowtack was one of seven initiatives chosen as finalists in the Roads Visionary Award, designed to celebrate technology innovation in the context of road transport. The awards are part of New Civil Engineer’s TechFest event, which showcases the latest digital solutions to benefit the engineering and consultancy sector.
