Royal HaskoningDHV have been working as lead EIA and consent consultants, working closely and alongside the Vattenfall Norfolk Vanguard development team since early 2016. Royal HaskoningDHV’s EIA project manager Gemma Keenan said “We are delighted that the hard work of the Vattenfall and Royal HaskoningDHV team in developing the project has been rewarded with the granting of the DCO today. At 1800MW this project makes a vital contribution to achieving the UK’s aim of zero carbon emissions by 2050”.
Norfolk Vanguard is one of two 1800MW offshore wind farms that Vattenfall are developing in the UK. Its sister project Norfolk Boreas is currently progressing through the planning system, and is also supported by Royal HaskoningDHV. Together the two projects power up to 3.9 million homes in the UK.
This is a great achievement for the Vanguard team and the culmination of a lot of hard work, and innovation over the past 5 years. The team’s patient, science led engagement with regulators and stakeholders enabled solutions to be found for even the most complex issues we faced.
