Sustainable, flexible and distinctive workplace in Jakarta

In Indonesia, plans to consolidate four offices into a single, sustainable building in the Green Office Park, Jakarta included the creation of a flexible and distinctive workplace. Royal HaskoningDHV provided project management for the core and shell fit out. Unilever benefitted from the knowledge and insight that has arisen through our long-standing relationship, enabling their ambition to be brought to life in a practical and feasible way. Collaboration comes to fore in food innovation centre

A food innovation centre was planned on the campus of a leading global agri-research hub. Its aim was to address global food challenges in collaboration with research institutions and start-ups. The centre needed to be future-proof and sustainable, while facilitating new ways of working and helping to attract and retain talent. We undertook a number of studies to investigate the feasibility of the programme on the proposed site. Having done so, we set up the programme of requirements and provided a cost framework for the investment. Conceptual designs were developed to aid negotiations over parking solutions, and developers’ proposals were assessed from functional and technical perspectives.

Experience enables quicker decision making

In relocating its European headquarters into a city centre, Unilever sought our assistance with technical aspects of the building – mechanical and electrical installations, acoustics and fire safety. Adjustments were needed to accommodate four large kitchens which made unusual demands on power and water supplies and the air handling units.

To meet the tight time schedule, we created a schematic technical design in a very short time, at which point a contractor was appointed to work in parallel with the design process. However, with cost estimations exceeding budget, the project required value engineering. Drawing on our considerable experience, we brought together all parties including our client, the contractor, architect and civil engineer to value engineer the project and find the necessary savings in a single meeting.
