Our client is a global household company and planned to renovate a production site in Vietnam. To ensure the renovation would comply with the International Electrotechnical Commission’s (IEC) standard for hazardous areas, Royal HaskoningDHV was contracted to conduct a Hazardous Area Classification assessment.
Solution minimises hazardous areas
Hazardous Area Classification involves assessing risks and assigning appropriate preventative measures to avoid any possibility of flammable atmospheres being ignited by electrical or mechanical equipment.
After making an in-depth assessment of the existing factory, we provided solutions to minimise the extent of the hazardous areas. This enabled equipment to be relocated out of these areas wherever possible, reducing investment required for retrofitting or replacement. It ensured compliance with the international standards and guaranteed the safety of the site.
