Our client is a global manufacturer of high-quality chocolate and cocoa products. Its new production facility in Indonesia will produce cocoa paste and liquid. It is being developed within an existing warehouse. The company contracted Royal HaskoningDHV to design the building and process utilities. In addition, we are responsible for the building’s architecture, structural and electrical engineering as well as fire systems, sanitary installations and HVAC.

Integrated digital platform supports flexible, efficient process design and construction

Royal HaskoningDHV’s process engineering team designed the utility system, which includes the supply of hot and cold water and compressed air, reverse osmosis water purification and effluent discharge. We assessed utility consumption, carried out the hydraulic check and line sizing, and prepared process flow, piping and instrumentation diagrams. From these diagrams, we have developed a 3D layout of equipment and piping and prepared the tank nozzle orientation to ensure the pipework connections align with the equipment.

By combining input from multiple disciplines into our BIM 360 construction management platform, we are able to identify and address clashes at the design stage, ensuring smooth implementation. The integrated digital platform also increases our flexibility to respond as decisions change and new information becomes available.
