Your partner in reaching net zero

We lead by example. We have signed up to the Pledge to net zero - which aligns to COP26 goals - and our corporate vision to Enhance Society Together. In every project we seek to deliver net gains in safety, wellbeing, resources and environmental benefit. Our track record in the consent and delivery of over 50% of the UK’s offshore wind capacity gives us unrivalled contacts and insights in the renewables sector, and our work with local government in many locations positions us well in terms of policy knowledge and public sector contacts. We were delivering climate resilience solutions long before the phrase was coined: we have 140 years of experience in flood defence, maritime resilience, transport innovation and sustainable infrastructure.

In the race to net zero, we need companies and organisations to take urgent action and make bold, robust strategies that deliver change in a sustainable way

The journey to resilient net zero

Our expertise to tackle climate change

The COP26 goals are closely aligned to the areas where we specialise. The stated goals for the conference are to secure global net zero by mid-century; to protect communities and habitats; to mobilise finance and to work together.

Energy transition

We combine technical expertise with management consultancy to support our clients in the transition towards a low carbon economy. We work on a large variety of projects, from large and technically challenging offshore wind projects to smaller scale hydrogen production and tidal energy generation - giving us a unique appreciation of the priorities and needs of different scale projects.

Resilient infrastructure

Climate resilience is much more than defending against unpredictable weather. A holistic approach is crucial to assess both the immediate risks of a climate emergency and the secondary threats such as loss of power, transport infrastructure issues and technology breakdown.
Our tools and experience enable us to build a detailed and accurate map of the potential risks and mitigations to infrastructure at every level, tailored to individual organisations through to national and international ecosystems.

Healthy, safe cities

By 2050, 70% of the world’s population will live in cities, creating pressure on resources, transport, water, space, environmental quality, education and healthcare. A multi-disciplinary approach is required to work with the community and understand their needs and preferences in transforming fast-growing urban areas into sustainable, low-carbon, healthy places to live.
